Thought I would do some sort of DIY even though its a pretty easy install! Install took me about 20 minutes. Hardest part is lining up the engine cover when putting it back on, it was fighting back lol. All you need is a ratchet, socket, flat head screw driver(to take off intake tube), and if you want a little grease to help slip the lines on!

Engine cover off, just pops right off

Remove stock pcv line

Install double ended male fitting on the front pcv fitting

Remove elbow fitting off of rear pcv fitting and install longest line (this is where the grease comes in handy!)

Install catch can with supplied bolt, bolting it into the lowest mount hole on the passenger side of engine

Connect the lines to the fittings on the catch can, the front line is a little long, so you could cut it if you wanted.

Re-install engine cover, and intake tube..then pat yourself on the back because you just completed a pretty easy install and it makes you feel good hahaha

My next oil change is about 1k miles away, so I will check the can then. I will post up some pics of what it actually collects. Thanks again to Matt at Moes Performance for the fast shipping and great customer service!

I great addition for sure! Looks good. The hose from the catch can to intake looks like it can be shortened a bit. Enjoy!

I'll probably go back and cut it shorter, that's why I mentioned it..but I don't think its hurting anything either way. I'm excited to see the results from installing it!

You will be surprised when you check it. I was. Mine has a couple ounces in it after only a week, about 250 miles. Guess it's working.

I don't really know what would happen in the long run if that stuff kept going back into the engine, but I will say I'm glad I don't have to find out anymore!

Great step by step install with pics. This should help a lot of people that are unsure about how to install the catch can.

Thanks guys! Feels good to do even the small mods yourself! I know it was simple, but I wanted to do a write up because before installation I was one of the skeptics. As far as the throttle body, still pretty clean..I cleaned it about 5k miles ago when I added my drop in K&N filter.

How did you clean your throttle body? I'd like to clean mine as well. Thanks.

Little CRC throttle body cleaner, and a micro fiber rag. I had my wife turn the truck on accessory, and press on the gas pedal that way the throttle body would open up. Sprayed a little cleaner in it and on the rag and just cleaned it up!

Ok guys Im new to this forum. I'm reading this thread and am wondering a few things. 1). What is a catch can? and 2). If this is a problem why has Dodge not fixed it by now? (or what is their excuse would probably be the more appropriate question). Thanks in advance for the info.

A catch can catches the oil crap that is being sucked into the intake manifold through the PCV valve.

The reason no body has addressed this is because of maintence. Most people won't think to check their cans and no shop will think to do it either. So they will get filled up and the engine will suck in even more oil than it would normally.
