After 4 Years.... Bye Bye!! Quality was bad and the RAM service was HORRIBLE!! Truck parts failing in the first year and then after leaks and the Uconnect and climate controls completely failing at 19.5K miles... fighting with the dealership again for over 2 months... I was DONE!! I ordered the Tundra and here it is. The best day after buying my RAM was the day I got rid of it!! I was warned that my RAM electronics and truck would fall apart around the Cummins engine and they were right!! Love the engine but that doesn't matter if the rest of the truck doesn't work. No AC all summer in Las Vegas NV!! Really at 19.5K miles I had to get rid of it??!! RAM... Never Again!! View attachment 505236
I purchased a warranty when I bought my Ram ,brand new ,in 2012. Im pretty sure with all the repairs they’ve done so far, they lost money. My warranty expires 2024.

I don't care what anyone says,......I still think that Ram trucks has the most comfortable ride out there as far as trucks go.
Hopefully you’re talking specifically about half tons. I’m happy with my 2500 but it’s not known for being a smooth ride lol.

Comparing segment to segment, it's still true. Of course you don't compare a 2500 to a touring car, but comparing 2500s to other 2500s...

I was really pleased with the ride on my (former, now my son's) 1500 although it could use shocks now at 81k miles. I've equally pleased with the ride on my PW.

The 5 bar link coil over shock rear suspension they put on the 2500 is excellent. Best riding 3/4 ton in the market when I bought in 2017. Much better than leaf springs.

Yes, the 1500 rides like a sedan. It can't haul much weight, either.

my 2020 ram 2500 power wagon rides very comparable to my buddies 2020 F250. His power train however is considerably nicer he has the 7.3 gasser. Ram needs to kick it in and update the 6.4

Tremor, FX4, or standard? Just curious, supposedly the Tremor rides the nicest of the F-250s. I found the Tremor F-150 pretty nice, but didn't look at F-250s.

Honestly the truck that surprised/impressed me the most in terms of plush ride was the Silverado ZR2. It sucked up bumps reaaal nice and felt more planted than the Raptor in the rear end.

It is a lariat.

That's the trim level, but I was asking about the suspension. The Lariat can have the Tremor package, FX4 package, or just be on the standard suspension. The Tremor is only it's own trim level on the F-150, and the FX4 is never it's own trim level.

I'm quite content with my Max Payload of 1749 lbs and my Max Towing of 11,330 lbs.
It's a 1/2 ton.

No, it does not have a full 2000 lbs of payload but it sure does ride nice for the 251 lbs it gave up.

I have 2 good friends one has a F250 the other a Chevy 2500 both CCSB 4x4 like Ram 2500 and all 3 trucks are about the same year (16 & 17). The Chevy wins the ride quality hands down in my opinion. His Chevy has been reliable but no way it can compare to my Ram with towing, fuel mpg and handling of towing long trailers. A 32 foot camper was pushing that Chevy 2500 around pretty good. My Ram is rock solid with our 38 foot camper. Ram suspension is solid so I don't expect it to have the best ride which I'm fine with.

251 lbs? The max payload of a 2500 Big Horn (as a comparison) starts at around 2900lbs. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying?

I have seen plenty of non PW ram 2500's with under 2000 lb payload just depends on what model he had.

But we're not talking about a Diesel where payload is lower. I used a 2500 Big Horn gasser trim level as a comparison since he posted a Big Horn 1500, that's all.

One ton is 2000lbs and my payload is almost a full ton.

Being facetious.

Folks talking about poor payload on a 1/2 ton pickup.
Yes, 3/4 tons have more payload. Been driving 3/4 tons for over 30 years.

So what is your point in posting this? I am new here but on other forums, this is the first first post I see. 9 posts in 5 years, not sure you will be missed.

Dealers suck, and Toyota's dealers might suck most of all. I don't trust any of them. But just because you and your cousin's brother's uncles and aunts all got fed the same line of absolute BS doesn't make it true. The one single fluid that Toyota prices as if it's liquid gold is their 75W transfer case oil. That's it. Last time I looked it was like $80/liter. And pretty much every Tundra owner gives Toyota the finger for it and uses Ravenol 75W instead. Dealership service managers tell feed Toyota owners all kinds of BS. They push harder for the maintenance revenue because they aren't making nearly as much money off repairs as everyone else.

My 5.7L Tundra just shrugs at everything I throw at it. It does not care at all, even when I (rarely) overload it. I agree with you about the payload–I wish it were more in the 1900lb range instead of 1300lb. That's the one thing that bothers me. I'm on 285/75R18s with skids, bed cover, etc, and I can still get 16mpg combined. There is no other gas-engine half ton that makes sense for me, as I am absolutely allergic to having to go back to the dealer even once (never have with my Tundra). At the end of the day, I just have the best chance of having zero issues with Toyota. I don't need 3 more mpg at the risk of more issues. Comparing resale values confirms this.

This is hilarious. Could you possibly be more personally offended that the OP chose a different truck? Lol. Overwhelmingly, most of the Tundras I see on the road are early 2nd gens ('08-'10). The first two to make it to a million miles (there are at least four now that I'm aware of) hauled well over their ratings working as parts hotshotters for oil companies.

Here is some hard data for you: Dashboard Light Full-size Truck Ratings. This site compiles dealer service and car auction data to paint a picture measuring long-term drivetrain reliability only. Any weird infotainment glitches, body or interior issues, noisy or failing cab mounts, etc, is not going to be covered in this study. Drivetrain only. And the whole thing was started and is run by a pair of Volvo fanboys. The numbers speak for themselves.
Has anyone noticed something funny about the Dashboard Light web site quoted above?

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. I would probably feel the same way if that was my experience. Fortunately being on my 2nd Ram I've been lucky so far. Hope you enjoy your Tundra for many years to come.
