I have a 2018 Power Wagon, that I plan on installing A Carli Pintop King 2.5 suspension system in. But, before I do so, I want to find the best & easiest to use calibration module for recalibrating my tire pressure, & speedometer for 35" tires. I'm looking at the AEV ProCal or the Tazer Ram. Does anyone know which of these is the better module to use?

Fascinating. So glad someone finally brought this up! Eagerly anticipating the results of this discussion.

I too would love to recalibrate the TPMS! I rotate my tires regularly, AND have a 2nd set of wheel/tire for summer!

This is discussed almost every day on here. Tazer Ram is easy to use. And allows you to change more parameters. I have it. It’s easy. At the time I got mine the AEV one didn’t support ‘19-‘20 rams without going to the dealer to finish the process, which is a pain.

So you have the Tazer on your PW? I am looking at going this route. but on the TPMS side of things, it still says a trip to the dealer is required. But doesnt go into anymore detail.

Have you done this? or did you just turn the TPMS light off completely?

I have one as well for mine.

It has quite a bit of features. But I wouldn't say they are simple to use...at least not for me (admit I am bad with that kind of stuff in general, though).

It will require a dealer trip or some other programs to get the pressure changed. I personally do not get bothered by the warning much at all so have done nothing about it. If you leave it plugged into the port you can shut the light of completely, but I dont even bother with that.

Yeah that was what i was wondering. I know if you leave the tazer plugged in, you can keep the light of all together. But that kind of defeats the point of having them in the first place right?

Then i saw if you wanted to change the value, a dealer trip would be needed. But i wanted to know exactly what that trip entailed, and basically what you ask for.

I am stuck between the Tazer, and using AlfaOBD.. I think Alfa will be better as you can change the threshold, but i dont really like messing with computers, especially in a vehicle..

I have a 20 and the Tazer. You do not need to make a trip to the dealer for the changes. Could be wrong but the 19 and 20's you dont have to go to the dealer anymore using the tazer. At least my truck doesnt. Im electronically challenged lol, the tazer is somewhat easy to use and a pain. Just follow the directions. Took me several times to get things right. It does have alot of nice functions to use though.

I'll likely be ordering the Tazer this week. Spoke to AEV this morning and they still have not updated their software to support 5th Gen PW's unfortunately. Supposed to be updated later this month though.

Yea my truck is a ‘16. When I initially did it I would have to take it to the dealer to change pressures...not sure if that has changed since with my vintage truck. Or I believe I could use the alpha thingy to do it as well, as long as I have some code...but I just dont know for sure.

With the ram tazer You can change the tire size and set the tire psi value without having to go to the dealer. It’s all done through programming menus.
I will say that it can be a bit confusing in the beginning, especially if you’re just reading the instructions. I watched some how to videos in YouTube, so that coupled with the instructions will get it done. And after you get the hang of it, it’s no big deal.

Depends on the year I think. Mine wont, that I know of. Well, you can do tire size and axle ratio and that kinds of stuff, but not psi settings.

The below is the comment from Z automotive that makes me question being able to set the tire psi.7ae98a1645676299a68ce8abe0507dee.jpg

Another option would be AlfaOBD , it pretty cool set up and does so much more , look it up you’ll be surprised with all you can do.

ya, I see that. I don’t know if that’s for a certain year below 2019, but my 2019 is set to 49 psi by me with no dealer trip.

I will probably still email Z Automotive just to check lol.

FYI everyone.

I have received confirmation from Z automotive that the Tazer ram does not require a trip to the dealer for tire psi settings.

I look forward to using this. I have also asked for confirmation if their HDMI-AV kit will work for 2020 ram 2500s. It would enable you to plug in a fire stick or roku which would be pretty awesome lol

Yea, I would assume so as well. Makes me what to run an update or something on mine to see if it would work...but doubtful.
