The time has comes to re-register my 2016 Ram Eco-Diesel
They request Mail In Only

They want the Dodge Dealership to produce a form, stating that the

RAM 1500 ECODIESEL COOLANT LEAK RECALL FOR EGR COOLERS

has been fixed,

That is fine & dandy, but it may never happen
There has not been any repair kits sent to any warehouses for distribution

Has any Californian replied to that registration form ?
Mine is due Sunday

Ooof ... I was renewing the registration on the van I just bought for my detailing business and guy there was in shock that his ECO diesel wouldn't be able to get registered because of this very reason ... he was on the phone with the dealership and dmv at the same time trying to get the dmv to understand what was going on ... the DMV put him on hold and eventually hung up on him lol ... so you might be out of luck ! ...

The Predatory tactics of the CADMV

Its a manufacturers recall and service California as usual is over stepping their bounds Vehicle Manufacturers and their dealerships are not sanctioned by CARB nor do they have control over what a dealership does when it comes to emissions controls. A dealer can emission test a vehicle prior to a sale but the registration is not questioned in the case of a used vehicle certification.

It’s 7 years at the time of purchase for warranty of emissions repairs
(of new vehicles)
currently I believe it is 8 years.

With pandemic and other pressures facing law enforcement, registration violations have pretty much gone to the wayside.

I’d like to See if “ RAM CARES “ touches this one and reaches out.

If it was me I’d check with AAA and see what they’re doing to circumvent this.

There is a lawsuit in Wisconsin and interest in that should be followed.

“The Ram 1500 EGR cooler recall lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin: Anderson, et al., v. FCA US LLC.

The plaintiffs are represented by Turke & Strauss LLP, and Robins Kaplan LLP.”

I went to a private Registration place, they are quicker than walking into the DMV to ask questions

I paid the money & got a temporary paper.

They took the paperwork that i got from the dealership stating that everything was on back order ( which was a total lie )
The Service Writer had no knowledge & he was BSing me
He has not heard the last of me, i will hang around the little office when i am around & bad mouth him to any customer he gives advice to.

Tuesday, i will be there at 7 to 7:30 to get the Diesel EGR Cooler recall done.

Then i can back to the Registration place & they will take care of the tags for me
