I am about to buy a 2004 3500 dually originally bought and sold in California so I assume it has California emissions. I do not live in California so is there anything that can be done to to increase hp? The engine appears to be non HO.

What engine do you have?

There are a lot of mods you can do, from cold air intakes to headers to cat back exhausts, etc... It's pretty much wide open.

It has the 5.9L turbo. By the build sheet, I would say it is not an HO. I have not seen the truck. Test driving it on Monday.

I didn't buy the truck I intended to buy. I ended up with a 2003 3500 4wd dually with the 5.9 HO in extremely good condition. 162,000 miles. Did find out it needs upper ball joints though.
