Hey guys I'm new to this but I have a 2004 ram with the 5.7 hemi. I've been wanting to install a cam and have been looking at the comp 268. Only bad I live in California and smog is strict. By any means by me installing that cam will it set my check engine light on? Thanks in advance

If you don't get a tune to support your cam chances are the CEL will be bright yellow in the cluster... The PCM is not designed to handle the difference in timing and other settings the new cam will bring around. The stock PCM will be fighting to get things back to OEM parameters and when it will fail to do so you could even end up with non-working truck... let alone the CEL !

(Thank's charonblk07 for correcting me from ECL to CEL...)

The truck will need a tune for sure to work with that bump stick. With a proper tune you will have no issues with CELs.
