Hi folks! I'm new to the forum and just love the info here! I have 2012 Ram 1500 and have some vibration when I hit the brakes hard...I plan on changing the front rotors and pads soon and would like to do it as cheaply as I can but I want to be able to stop also...Has anybody used the cheap pairs of rotors and pads on Amazon? Is there a reason I shouldn't use them? Thanks and GOD bless.

I used them on the last brake job on my wifes grand caravan. Stops smooth with very little dust. I will probably go that route on my Rams next brake job which should be soon since I am also getting a vibration.

I used them for my wifes gmc terrain and sons ford exlorer with wagner ceramic brakes. They work great. Only have about 20k miles on both vehicles so far though.

Hey if it stops your vehicle safely, i see no reason not to buy cheaper when you can.
But if you drive really aggressive, that devil might rear its ugly head! Your money, your truck.

Got these stop tech front and rear rotors and performance pads for 380 shipped online. I drive the **** out of it and they do great. Pads and rotors from the dealer would have been almost 3 times the price.

If you want to really save money get your existing rotors turned. I don't know what auto parts stores are close to you but O'Reillys Auto parts have machine shops and most of them can do the job while you wait unless you live someplace super busy. Throw in a $25 set of pads and that will be cheap.https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...72449/2012/ram/1500?fitAttr_10039=Front&pos=3

Most rotors are machined to just above minimum thickness right from the get go. Typically there isn't enough material left to get a full cleanup and not be under the minimum thickness spec engraved in the rotor. They do this so you have to replace with new instead of being able to cheaply turn them down.

Get on rockauto.com, they've got several name brand rotors for 30-40 bucks and you can get a set of good pads for $40. I bought bendix pads and rotors for my cruze for about 80 bucks and paid another 80 for install at express oil. Still good 40000 miles later

I have never seen the point in mail-ordering rotors when I can get "cheap" ones for around the same price at local car parts stores. If they were a lot less expensive mail-order, for sure that's the way I'd go.

Pads on the other hand I have mail-ordered and have never had a bad experience. Most recent eBay pad set I bought was for our 2016 Nissan Quest minivan. They've been excellent and were inexpensive.
