Found a 2022 2500 Tradesman I'd like to get. It doesnt have the 220 amp alternator (for plowing).
Can the factory standard alternator be taken out and swapped for the 220 amp alternator?
We plow our 3 small businesses, thats it, prob 3 hours of plowing.
Is it a simple swap? do the mounting holes line up? Will there be a computer software issue, meaning the system thinks it has a standard alternator but in fact we installed a high 220 amp one and its making the software go nuts?
I called local dealer and inquired and he said he's never heard of it and was no help whatsoever. Very dissapointed in him, and thats where I've purchased trucks before. I asked him if a software update would be neccesary, again, he was no help.
It is a 2022 Tradesman, w/ 6.4 engine, 4.10 gears, w/ limited slip
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
David

Its not listed on Window sticker, and on the "Ram Build" site its listed as an option.
It is included in both snow plow packages.
