Can the vin # give me what gear ratio the axles are?

my window sticker says 3.42 and 3.73. take the diameter of your tire (32) x pi (3.14) = 100.48 / ft(12 inches) = 8.3 ft 5280 ft in a mile (5280/8.3) = 627 revalutions per mile.
627 x 3.73 = 2340 rpm's at 60 mph. find your tire size and drive your truck at 60 mph in 4th gear (direct drive) divide the rpm;s by the revs per mile for your size tire.
if your truck goes 2142 rpm's at 60 your ratio is 3.42

Crawl under it and look.... the housing should have a sticker on it that will have the ratio on it... on mine it is on the bottom and easy to see on the front diff.

Yes, true. I would also recommend you to check twice the VIN number, just in case. Maybe vingurus decoder could help. Actually, there are lots of online services where you could find information about cars.

I think if it doesn't say on the sticker, you may have the 355 ratio. M2013 sticker didn't say but the vin says I have the 355 with the 6 speed
