I have been running the stock tire size 275/70/18. I would like to go to 285/75/18 (35"), but not sure if i should. I don't want to lose much mpg, mainly when towing, and not sure how the gearing change will affect the towing performance.

What experience do you guys have with running larger tires, as far as mpg and towing goes? I have the 6.4 with 3.73 gears and tow a 32'/7200 lb travel trailer occasionally throughout the year.

My dad has a 2017 2500 6.4l 3.73 with 295 65r20 35.1 x 11.7. He pulls a 8600lb trailer with out issue and reports 15-16 hwy mpg. I will be getting 295 65r20s on aftermarket wheels on Monday I can report back before and after mpg after a little while I also tow a 8-8200lb camper first trip after the new tires will be first weekend in may.

I decided to go for it. Rides and looks good and i haven't noticed a change in mpg. Have yet to do any hand calculations though. Would like to calibrate the speedo as it is about 3 mph off on the interstate.

looks great what offset are you running and do you have any rubbing?

my dad is running same size tire he rubs only at full lock on oem wheels. I ordered 20x9 +20s should work nicely per my research
