How would you get better mpg from a catch can? Going from 16 to 20????

I drove from NC to SC up down around and in traffic. Averaged about 18 mpg which kicks 16 and under in the butt. I'm happy for the increase.

Isn't that reversed? PCV hose goes directly to "in" and the "out" hose goes to TB.
Yup, lack of sleep lol, I said it backwards. Funny part, when I first installed the directions with catch can were backwards so for awhile I ran it reversed, to be honest it caught the same both ways lol.

That's a good point, it probably doesn't make a big enough difference to worry about it much when you think about how they function.

Ahh, but it depends on the type you purchase and install. I bought the $38 model on line and the "IN" side dumps through a drilled plate of sorts that acts as a baffle I assume and helps get the oil from gaseous to solid for less into the intake. But I ain't no rocket scientist. Mileage still up 2 mpg. Can't wait to do a fresh oil change, Bosch filter and run a bottle of Redline through the fuel system. Already have the K & N air filter thanks to the previous owner. What next that's cheap to do ?

If you just have the drop in k&n do the air box mod and bring in more cool air.
few threads on it on here.

You all are right! My S&B intake left NO room on the other side where ideally one would install the catch can. That being said the alternative was where I installed and to others point when you unscrew the dipstick, I am getting some powerful suction so I know all is working. I am almost at 500 miles and will be unscrewing the can to see what is in there if anything.

Hello all,

I have put 500 miles on and the picture was the result of oil. Not too much but still caught some!

Thank you

You have a long hose run. Probably had to coat the hose a bit before enough stuff would stay entrained in the vapor to make it to your can.

I just did mine. Truck is almost 4 years old with 123K on the odometer, so I figured what the hell..... I attached it to my Airaid cold air box.

FBEBED96-4EBC-4C53-A986-831D3B7EFE41.jpeg I finally installed mine last night. I couldn’t find any other spot then the intake. I did notice today that the mds used to be really annoying and now I can barely notice it.

It's so funny to see all the CC setups here...I run a Billet Tech mounted on the BT Z bracket with plain hoses and no clamps. It's worked fine for 25K miles, so I'm guessing the clamps, fittings and braids are just bling!

I don't view it as funny, just view it as how other people are doing it. I too have the BT with the bracket, I bought it because it was a kit, plug and play, simple easy. However it did cost more. Some are doing it to save money, some are doing it to make it theirs, just so it's not like everyone else's. There's also a gazillion different catch cans on the market, some with Dip stuctks, drain valves, or just the screw off bowl. Not funny, interesting to see others ideas.

Just installed the Ruien can I got from Amazon. Used 1/4" by 2" aluminum stock. Cut a piece 2 1/2". Used 3/8 fuel hose and inserted into the factory rubber boots. Its a little bit of a PIA to unscrew with fat hands, i sacrificed ease for what i thought looked like a better spot.20180901_133830.jpg 20180901_133830.jpg 20180901_133830.jpg
