I know this thread is old but, for those mounting antennae to your bed/stake pockets...how are you getting the wire into the cab?

I ran the cable thought the pocket and under the bed. Then along the frame rail. The get it into the cab I drilled a hole through the clutch delete plate.

I replaced the radio and moved it up above the dash. I routed all of the wires and coaxial cable through the dash.
I'm now running a Cobra 29 NW LTD Classic with the antenna mounted using a bed stake mount.

Any pics of your set up?

My last truck I found an oval shaped rubber grommet under the drivers seat that I was able to put a small cut it and pushed it thru the floor.

Still trying to figure out a way to mount the antenna with over the rail bed cover? Can't use magnet on roof because of the garage. Thinking bumper??

I've seen them mounted on the hood..which I cannot do because of my ditch lights. I'm going to mount the antenna on my bed rack.

If you have no flat metal surface to mount your antenna
consider a Zero Ground Plane Antenna

If you have a CB Shop in your area, you might want to drop by & have a talk. CBers love to talk about their equipment

Socalramfan or anyone else up fairly close to Ontario California

If you need your CB tuned, you can't do better than http://www.superiorcb.com/

I have had 3 truckers CBs fixed & or tuned by them

The Ranger CB that i use just was not getting out the way it should have
The radio was set up right & the cable was just the right length, i thought the SWR was just right.
The tuned the Ranger up & i reinstalled it, the outside installer came up & double checked everything,
Then he cut 2 1/2" off of the Big Wilson antenna, then he checked it again & cut off another 3/4"
He said that the SWR was as close to perfect as it could be

So, I have run into a bit of an issue. Since I purchased my ram just over a year ago I had my cb antenna mounted using a bed rail stake mount, but now I have a topper. The topper has a lip that keeps water from getting under the cap and past the rail. Are there any options to mount the antenna using a mount that will allow me to keep it near where I had it?

For those scratching their heads about garaging with a CB antenna. K40 makes one with a bayonet mount. I have one that I have been using for about 25 years. The magnet is strong enough that I was able to cut a circle out of a thin towel to protect the paint from the magnet.,
