9EA82023-256F-44EB-A599-AA33B94C4573.jpeg so begins my journey with a new center console. I loved the bench to be honest and it was a sticking point in buying the truck but i wanted to try the center console out for a while.

I love the way it looks. I have to install the front trim panels and then fab out the transfer case arm to come through it and then ill be done. It really shouldn't be that difficult. Here are the pics. Console is from a 2017 1500. Now that I've done the UAQ upgrade for apple car play and now i have the console it feels like a new truck. Couldn't be happier.

Definitely looking forward to some completed pics. This looks very interesting to me. Would love to have that center console.

Looks awesome! You're definitely gonna have to do some nifty fab work for the transfer case. I've kicked around the idea of doing a custom center console making a base out of Masonite and then fiberglassing it, but I like this stock look much better. You'll have to do a write up on how you did the transfer case part when it's complete.

For sure. To be honest i think its going to be pretty simple. The stock transfer case arm is easily removable from the electronic portion. I’m going to heat the stock bar and bend it 90° And have it come out of the side of the console. Can’t wait to see it when it’s done

If that's the route you're gonna go, the hardest part will be gaging the travel path, or arc, as the arm moves so you can cut that into the side of the console. Something like that wouldn't work for me because of how tall I am, my leg would be hitting the arm the entire time I'm driving.

NICE!!!

I have been eyeing up this same project for the last two years. My work truck is a ‘17 big horn with that same council. I really like it, but was always kinda skeptical on the tcase shifter part of it.

Cant wait to see it finished!

I was just looking at the pics again... how hard would it be to add the damn door/cover to the storage area over the glovebox? That would drive me frikin nuts! How much money could they actually have saved by not putting that on there?!?!? Wtf!?

The console was out of a sport 1500. It had the 12 v and heated seats for the rear. Two things my PW doesnt have so i took the harness out of my jump seat. I know i could have made the harness it came with work but i couldn't wait. I swap my harness in to get the carplay to work right away.

I also split the 12v off my harness and used it to connect to the rear 12v outlet. There is one more isb plug in my center stack that i will be adding into the console. I just need an extension.

This is really cool. I was just speaking to someone about this. I got a '19 2500 in May... The only reason I didn't get a PW was because I didn't want a truck without the center console and I didn't think one could be added with the floor shifter...

Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Last trim piece just came in. Now I can take it back apart and start the cut for the transfer case lever. Its going to have a nice bend in it. Thinking I’ll have to heat it with a torch and bent it in a vise. Cant wait to finish this one up!

all the panels are a drop off because I don’t have anything bolted down knowing I had to take it in and out a bunch more.

I still have the whole set up. Been super lazy about adding the forum sign and listing it on here. Have the radio bezel listed on Facebook. That’s about it

Might wanna keep it all until you figure out if this project is a success overall. Speaking from personal experience. I paid a bit of coin for some replacement parts on my last truck when a mod went bad and I couldn't salvage it after selling off the stock pieces

yea i agree. I tend to save all my parts regardless. I know this will work out but I will get bored of it in a year or so I bet and want to switch back. I have the bezel listed because I got a duplicate with the console.

If you go back to original then you need a new shifter, so hav you considered bending it at 90 and cutting it off so that just the knob sticks out the side? Just a thought.

Yes, I think it we be a double 90 turn. First to come out of the console on the side and then another 90 to make it vertical again. I want to install the same gear knob back on so it looks as stock as possible
