What are centramatic balancers?

Their website boast that they save 25% tire tread and some gas but no explanations how.
I looked up some videos but I just don't get it ( and is it an older version of the shamwow salesman?! ).

Educate me!

It is a disk that bolts on with your wheel. If you drive on rocks a lot you know that they stay stuck in the tire tread for a while and cause vibration. Or if you off road you tear off a chunk of tire, then these are helpful. They are about 6oz of sand or a liquid that moves freely and is to balance out the tire again. It is very popular in semi trucks. But Jeeps use them a lot too.
About $200 for a set and if you run 35+ then the 12oz ones are better and they are $400 for 4.

Did you pull the regular wheel balance weights and use the centramtic as a “replacement” or do you run both?

OA
Centramatic recommends to use both, which I did.

Supposed to be slugs or bearings in the tube, around the circumference of disc, suspended in some sort of viscous fluid. As you drive, the bearings spread out from the centrifugal force and allegedly the bearing will move to opposite side of whatever vibration and counter it. Anyhow, some physics at work here and that 's how I read off the cereal box.

I tried them (Part# 300-318) and didn't notice any difference on stock wheels with stock size Michelin Defenders. Maybe they help on big tires that trap stones or have some imbalance that weights cant fix. PM me and I'll make you a deal on them. Just gathering dust in the garage and I forgot I had them until this thread.

I'm getting a slight vibration at ~50mph so may have to try these when I rotate my tires.

Never had a problem with my factory tires. They wore out, and now I've got a mild vibration at about 75 mph...not that I drive that speed very often, but took a 4 hour trip to my land up north and about halfway up noticed it...Just enough to be annoying, and it comes and goes.

Going to let the tires wear some since I have like...600 miles on them maybe? But if it keeps it up then I'll be looking into a set of these.
