I have searched the world it seems, and come up empty (or misinformed).
I have a 2016 Bighorn with P275/60R20 on it. I purchased a set of 17" rims from the same year Ram. I can't for the life of me find tires that are close in diameter (yes, I searched tiresize.com) The ones that are close generally don't have 3 peak snows available in them. I know that changing the Dia by more than 3% isn't great on the truck (speedo and Transmission shift). What can I do? I don't really need LT tires for this one so will probably stick with P tires.

Thank you,

Chris

It depends on how wide your wheels are.
If 8" or more wide you can run 285/70/17 and they are only 0.2" shorter than your 20's.

You could run them on a 7" wheel but the handling gets a bit wierd IMO.

They will be a bit wider but generally less than an inch.
Personally I would prefer the 265's also, unless you wanted the extra height of the 285's.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W have the three peaks snow rating and come in the size you are looking for. They perform great and cost less than many other brands.

Cooper A/TW is another good one at reasonable pricing

285/70/17 will be closest in overall diameter

That size is not recommended for the stock 17x7 rim by most manufactures. I run that size and the winter performance suffers compared to the 265.

I won't argue any of that, I was just answering the OP's question of what size 17" tire is closest in diameter to 275/60/20 (which would be 285/70/17)

Ah. We both had valid points. Hopefully the OP has some good information to think about for his tire purchase.

You can always get AlphaOBD and change your tire size your self. Then you can switch to anything you like and don’t have to worry about your MPH being off. You can adjust your tire pressure also so you don’t have any low TPMS messages

Look over this thread at the first post and see what you think

I park near and often next to several late model Rams with stock 20" wheels at work. The difference in truck height between them and my lowly 2017 express QC 4x4 with 17's is barely noticeable. In some cases, depending on the tire and wear, they look identical in cab height. I guess my point is, it depends on the specific tire. They're all sightly different from what the online tire size comparison dimensions give you.

Below is a pic of my 2017 with a set of ~2015 17 steelies I picked up off of fleabay marketplace for cheap. The TPMS in them sync'd right up to my truck in a few miles of driving.
