Change Menu Color Touch Screen?

Hi guys,

I have a 2012 3500 with the factory touchscreen head unit. I saw one for sale online today and the menu on it is all black instead of the bright blue? Is there some way a guy could change this?

Only the newer models are able to change colors... That I know of.

You may try and update your software to the latest version. On my 2014, that function was added with a software update. I'm assuming you have the 8.4 screen? That would be the only way it could happen.

When I check online it says my vehicle is up to date

I don't think that version of stereo will change colors. I believe that's the same thing as my wife's Durango and I think you can actually upload photos to it. I haven't tried it on her's, but I know it has a hard drive with music on it from the previous owner.

If you have the owners manual, check in there. I bet it will give you some settings that can be adjusted. Also, I'm sure someone will jump in and help you out.

My challenger had that radio and if I remember correctly it has something to do with the day/night settings in the radio.... cuz I remember I could change mine between the blue and black styles.

Hm all I can really seem to do is change the brightness

I'll have to take another look this evening but that's what I was playing with and it only seemed to alter the brightness
