Changed TPMS setting via Alpha, now they won’t update. Seems RF hub not updating

Hey all, I used Alpha Obd to update my new tires 35’s and also changed the tire pressure, increased it. Then did an RF hub update. Everything seemed to be fine but then I physically lowered the tire pressure to 50 for comfort and realized that the TPMS is not updating, they are still reporting at the old pressure of 58 I had when I did the Alpha update. Tried the Alpha OBD tire pressure and RF hub update again and it went fine but still not updating to current pressure.
Any suggestions?

I couldn't get mine to update either. I bought wheels without sensors and I couldn't get kg to shut off. I ended up going with a tazer and deleted the tpms

Did you drive the truck after dropping the pressure to 50? Try letting the pressure drop lower, sometimes the sensors need to see a greater loss to register after they’ve been tweaked.

Best,

Yes I drove about 50 miles, I took it today to Discount Tire and they slowed how all 4 sensors are transmitting the correct pressure.
I’ll try lowering the pressure 20+ pounds to see if that helps.

If discount tire will scan them and give you the sensor id numbers, you could try programming them into the tpms module individually with Alfa

I lowered the tire pressure to 29lbs and drove around for about 30 minutes and still not updating. I am now going to Discount Tire to see if they can scan the sensors and give the sensor ID's like Ken226 mentioned and try to update via Alpha OBD.

Went to Discount Tire and got the serial numbers for the sensors, the problem is Alpha OBD says they should be 8 digit codes and both given to me by Discount were 7.
Is it possible that the TPMS module has went bad? The sensors are sending the signals, battery health is good per the scanner, but my dash isn't updating. What is strange is that usually most persons complain of no reading on the evic, but mine still shows the last tire pressure, its not blank lines or throwing any codes.

Maybe the 2014 is different, but I checked and with my 2013, AlfaOBD and it says the sensor ID is 7 digits

When you said you updated your RF Hub, what did you mean? Took it to a dealer for a reflash?

This is kinda weird, but I found two different places to program the TPMS sensors in AlfaOBD. One says it is a 7 digit, the other says it is an 8 digit! :33:

If I go to Tire Control, 2013 Ram Powernet, It asks for a 7 digit number. I kinda wonder if it's a typo that it says MY2013 Powernet, instead of MY2013+ powernet. Because, everything from 2014 to 2017 is excluded.

But If I go Radio Frequency Hub, My2013+ powernet, it says it is an 8 digit code.

Ken226, I have found that the 2014-2017 is different, it uses the RF hub and not a TPMS Module alone. The 2013 has a TPMS Module in front of the driver tire near the front bumper on the 13 Ram. I pulled info from the RF hub and will upload when able from my tablet. It did show all of my sensors info and readings.

So I tried a rolling relearn and that was a no go, It did not read the TPMS sensors. I then tried to program my sensors via the add new sensor learn feature, I input the 8 digit codes and then tried the rolling sensor relearn, nothing as it said it failed. The weird thing is if I go to my RF hub and ask for the info, the TPMS sensors and their codes are all there. Like I said before Discount Tire assured me they are working and sending the correct tire pressure.

I am at the point of just disabling that TPMS feature, but I haven't given up yet.
