CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON

Hello all,

I have a 2015 ram 1500 with 60k miles on it. this truck is treated like a baby. my check engine light went on monday night driving home from work. i bought this truck brand new.

WENT TO SHOP TODAY GOT THE CODE P018C, BUT TODAY MY TRUCK RUNS GREAT.
WHAT COULD BE WRONG ANYONE??

* I TOPPED MY TRUCK OFF SUNDAY NIGHT
* CHECK ENGINE WENT ON MONDAY NIGHT

**ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT MIGHT BE, AGAIN I HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY CHANGE ON HOW MY TRUCK DRIVES.

According to my research the code is "fuel pressure sensor B circuit low". I'm guessing it's a pressure related issue that is going to get worse, but I have no idea the details. It appears to be a device that seems easy enough to replace from the images I saw. Did you check your filler cap to see if it needs a little more of a twist? Not sure if that could cause it, but it's worth a try. I think that a loose cap issue takes a few miles of driving to "clear" itself.

The P018C is a universal code as are seemingly all codes. Google it and see what you come up with.

Not sure if this is your issue...but there was only 3 times my '14 threw a CEL and all 3 were gas cap issues.

THANKS GUYS, YEAH MY CAP SEEMS TO BE ON TIGHT AS CAN BE. AND MY LOCAL GARAGE IS GOING TO ORDER A SENSOR FROM DODGE AND QUOTE ME

HOPEFULLY THIS IS THE ISSUE. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT WAS A SENSOR ISSUE WOULD MY TRUCK EVEN START?

You could also try changing the gas cap. $10-20 part. Can’t go wrong there.

I heard if it was the gas cap it would give off a different code? Also i think my cap is working fine. It clicks... is there something im missing with the gas cap?

Replacing the gas cap won’t fix a P018C code. That code is for the fuel pressure sensor. It’s likely the fuel rail pressure sensor or your fuel pump is on its way out.

Thank you. Yes I am getting the fuel pressure sensor replaced tomorrow hopefully that does the trick! Ha me everyone I will keep you posted on the outcome!

The sensor will fix the problem. I had the same issue and I've read of many 2015s that have had the same issue. Other than the CEL, I don't think you'll see any other symptoms.

Update: we got it right it was the fuel pressure sensor thanks to everyone that gave their opinions and expertise in helping me figure it out!
