check engine light comes and goes?

so i got this code a few months ago, and it cleared itself pretty quick, then it came back and cleared itself again and it was happening every few weeks at random but it has been getting more frequent to now it shows up almost once a day. what the hell would cause this? i have never noticed the truck not creating boost or anything so im not sure whats actually wrong. Has anyone dealt with an intermittent engine code?

My first suspicion would be a loose connection or partially rubbed through wire that is getting worse. That would allow it to lose the signal just for a split second and set the code, but not really be noticeable while driving. I would do some research and verify where the wiring runs for this module and do a visual inspection to start out with.
