CHECK ENGINE light on when engine is off

Hello family, is it normal for the service light to turn on, flash a few times, the stay steady on I til I crank the engine? I know it's supposed to stay on while the ignition is on to make sure it's working, but I just noticed it blinks a few times and then stays on until engine is cranked. Is this normal? could it mean a problem? I just replaced the battery and truck is running perfect. I'm just freaking out about it.

If the light is off after starting the engine I wouldn't be concerned with it. Have you checked for any stored codes?

I haven't yet since I have no light nor signs of trouble while engine is on. I just never paid attention to it flashing a few times then staying on until I crank the engine

Nah you're good. All cars do a gauge bulb test during KOEO.
