Hi all, my check engine light just came on.
I checked all of the levels by scrolling through all available settings.
The only low setting I saw is the Diesel Particulate Filter which is a little above 0.
I don't know if this could be the problem or not. I don't know what it should be showing to be normal.
We are 250 miles camping with our travel trailer from home.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

DPF looks good on the dash, not much on the scale. Is there a dealer in the area who could scan the truck for you?

Need to get it scanned and see what the code is, could be just about anything so it's a guessing game until you can get that code. DPF looks fine.

Just because there’s DPF in the tank doesn’t mean it’s good. DPF expires dependent on temps.

DEF, Not DPF. DPF is the particulate filter

While possible, problems from bad DEF are very rare and most where because someone contaminated it (put fuel in etc).

Oh it’s possible. $1200 later and now I own a 6.4. If it’s the emissions it will start to count down and limit speed.

How’s the air filter?

You need to get it scanned by a good reader not just a generic. Any reputable shop should be able to read the code(s). Anything else is just a guess and is pointless.

Thanks all.
We made it home OK. I called the dealership where I bought the truck and they said they had no appointments for 5 weeks! Lithia in Eugene Oregon.
Needless to say I was very upset! 70K for a truck and no service??
The service rep said go ahead and drive it as long as the light is not flashing....
Anyway, I called another dealership in the area and have an appoint for Thursday.

My CEL also just came on today. 4000 miles, 2020 2500 Cummins. Why they can't just show the code somewhere on all of the screens they have it beyond me.

If it was the DPF, you may have cleared it on the drive home. Did you notice it went into regen mode?

ABOVE is why I always had my Blue Driver Scanner running when I had my baby Diesel so I knew levels and when regens were happening, etc.

So... They scanned the code remotely, sent it to Chrysler who in turn sent them two items to "flash" into the computer and it was fixed.
Did not know what the problem was just flashed what Chrysler sent them.
Commented that this wont be the last and stand by for a fuel pump recall....
Thanks to all for your thoughts.
