Which do you guys prefer? I have been using Meguiars for a while, maybe it's me, but they seem to be diluting the stuff more. Si which company do you guys recommend?

isn't that like asking what brand of underwear do you wear, or which oil do you use? Always subjective

IMO, it all depends on what you consider acceptable, how much work you put into it, how you prep and care for the truck once done, and how much money you feel like spending. I've used Meguiars, Griots, Chem guys. The griots line of compounds are for the novice that just wants a clean shiny car. No real cutting power in their "best in show" lineup. Meguiars worked well for me but I haven't bought any in a few years since I had a few big bottles left. I just bought chem guys last year, and it did fine, but I had some fine swirls I couldn't get out with CG #38 and the CG hex pads. I spent about 14 hrs polishing and correcting my paint to still not be perfectly swirl-free.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That said, every detailer claims they know what's best...some of them actually do.

From what you mentioned, definitely Megs. I wouldn't ever bother with Chemical Guys stuff. Only Griot's Garage stuff is above Megs IMO. I would be tempted to try Adam's if Megs and Griot's didn't exist.

I think if you put in the effort any of them will give good results and all have good reputations. I've been using chemical guys stuff lately. Meguiars was my go to prior and still use the leftovers in my detailing cabinet.

There are user friendly lines of detailing products, and true profesional ones. The user friendy ones have oils and fillers, the profesional ones much less. Try menzerna for polish, but they are more for rotary then orbital. Stuff you see in a paint shop, but there is a learning curve.

I run their Professional line or at least what I can get my hands on, just seems less aggressive as it was before.

Thanks everyone for your input I might hit up Adam's booth this year at Chrysler Nationals. Im definitely buying POR15 for my frame out there.

That's excellent results! We've been using Meguiars and satisfied for most of the time, there's just a few times it wasn't that good. We'll be installing the new brake kit, Mickey Thompson truck tires and running boards on his Ram. We'll try Chemical guys this time.

There's a lot of debate on the detailer blogs/sites/forums regarding Adams, Chemical Guys, and countless others, including the retail brands. Basically they're just marketing companies buying products in bulk and repackaging. The best products I've used come from the aerospace, and industrial product companies.

OP--This is not always true. Do your research and pick and choose wisely. There are some unique brands out there that are independent and do an excellent job although they may not be as cheap is the OTC products. When I think of repackaging I think of stuff like Leno and Barrett Jackson sells.
