Same here. I also use Mobil 1 20W50 V-Twin oil in my 2007 Harley....over 50k miles no issues.

When I had my '16 Low Rider I used Mobil 1 products in all 3 holes...engine: 20w50 V-twin, primary: 10w40 4T, transmission: 75w90 gear lube. I have used Mobil 1 in everything for many years...outboard, lawn tractor, push mower, snow blower, generator, wheeled leaf blower, power washer, and in all vehicles other than the Hemi. The Hemi gets Redline 5w30. My stuff runs great and lasts a LONG time!

@Travelin Ram you're correct in your assessment of my post.

@Zoe Saldana my experience with my dealer has been anything but what you and others have experienced, to a point.

Yes, I have scheduled appointments and had them broken. I have also shown up for repairs and parts weren’t there. I have even dropped my trucks off for days for simple repairs when they are backed up.

The difference is I built a rapport with them over the years by not being that guy. I keep bringing them my business and they keep my vehicle properly maintained.

Case in point...they provide a lifetime, unlimited mileage powertrain warranty through their dealership. The only caveat is they have to perform all the maintenance. In essence it isn’t free and likely I’ve paid more over the years than I should have but that’s not the point.

When my 1996 1500 with the 5.9 360 spun a main bearing at 400k, they replaced the entire engine, gave me a rental and paid for everything. My 2006 2500 Cummins **** the bed at 410k. Same story, new engine and no questions asked as they had all the maintenance records.

I buy my trucks from them exclusively and happily pay them to service them.
So it's like the casino. If you are a frequent player you get the room compted. A player that goes once a year or two has to pay.

Casinos do that because the casino take their money. Las Vegas was build with the money of losers, not winners.

You're a "one post wonder" who can't express ideas in a properly formatted manner, not to mention that you are not coherent. Good luck, but honestly, the way you wrote this post, I couldn't care less. FCA/Stelantis might be a bunch of twisted ******, however, you just posted here looking for attention and to try and hurt them. You got the attention, but that's about it.

Really, the guy used the correct 0-40 oil. Used M1, a respected oil that we both know meets or exceeds the mtg cert. Followed the oil minder that should account for idling. Can't find a number that defines excessive idle in in my owners manual. Sounds like it he lawyers up he can win, but FCA has deep pockets. From the details given, he is getting screwed.

I agree with what you're saying. My critique was towards how he worded his complaint and the fact that he didn't participate in the discussion at all. It's poorly worded and sounds like a childish rant. Facts are more interesting than rants.

And yes, M1 FS 0W-40 is a superior oil to PUP SRT 0W-40. The PUP 0W-40 is the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum API SN formula from yesteryear with more trimer Moly added. The reason for the added trimer Moly is to compensate for shearing (and boy does this oil shear once you start putting the hammer down) and to help with timing chain wear (yeah, it's ironic, I know). It's been demonstrated that cam wear is not helped beyond ~80ppm trimer Moly, however, timing chain wear is helped. It's even better if you drop the amount of Phosphorus and increase the amount of Moly. The thing is though, trimer Moly can't really help the roller lifters. You need Boron, esters, and dimer Moly. The esters will help make them stick to the poorly lubricated rollers. That's where a bottle of Lubegard comes in or Red Line oil.

agree with your synopsis as I also follow the oil thread. My take is that the oil changes are extended to long by the oil minder that many follow.

2018 would of had the redesigned roller bearings in the lifters, guess it didn't fix the lifter problem.

Unpopular sentiment, but this is exactly why I let the dealer perform oil changes and other power train maintenance. It might cost a bit more up front but it more than makes up for not having to deal with this.

Me too.

I have never tried to use Mobile 1 oil. Main reason is because I can never find it. I have used Mobil 1 many times before, though. It has never failed me, even when I had a long drive to Mobile, AL.

I do use periods and other correct spellings and punctuations, just for the fun of it. LOL.

Tell your friend to look back through the previous pages. You will, I mean, he will get it.

Tell him I even use correct capitalization, too. LOL

Pretty sure he’s a 1 post wonder. Just came on here to complain and it didn’t exactly go the way he wanted and we’ll likely never hear any update.

Didn't you hear? He used the "Mobil one 0W-40" and got denied. That's like saying that just because you did something right once, everything should go your way. There is probably more to the story. We just won't ever find out.
