Edited....apparently I expected too much from a 400hp rcsb at 6k DA.

In 2003, I test drove a hemi 1500. I remember being slammed into the seat during the test drive. I ended up buying a Cummins. I bought my 11 sport from the same dealer and went on the same test drive. The hemi has had been neutered by the nannies. In this case, it is the torque management used to protect the drivetrain.

Gears, stall convertor & custom tune only way around torque management if you plan on keeping.

Not saying this is gonna solve your trucks slowness, but you might have better luck with higher octane gas. Not saying dump 100 octane in your tank, just something a few points higher

Going to say I was wrong on that 0-60 in 6-7 secs unless you had 4.10 gears.
I don't think it should be over 8 secs though.

Below is stated under check inventory at site below.
"Equipped with the HEMI, the 2012 Ram R/T regular-cab 4x2 model with a short bed and 4:10 gears blasts from 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds."

I think maybe you should check your routine for timing your truck. Go to a strip and do it right--you might be surprised. A lot of trucks are all over the map when you compare 1/4 times. It depends on your mods, your traction, and most of all, whats behind the steering wheel. There is always going to be faster trucks---no matter what you do or don't do. Like I said, start at the drag strip and get a ACCURATE baseline to work from.

I know rhe 1/4 mile through an app is all over the place, Im more concerned with 0-60 since its pretty easy to measure

Your gears and the 6 speed are killing your 0-60. Do some research into the Pedal Commander. It might have a positive impact on your 0-60 times.

That does seem ridiculously slow. Even for the old junk 5 speed. Feel like something is wrong with that truck. Motor Trend tested one of those at like a 5.9 0-60 back when it was new. How many miles are on the truck? Does it need any maintenance? The trans and gears suck but it should be running better than that.

You also can’t discount environmental factors like heat, elevation. It is summer and you are in the desert. But 0-60 in the 8’s seem excruciatingly slow for that even in the dead of summer.

This was 2 days in a row, in the 60s around 5am. Maintenance appears to be fine, as the dealer supposedly checked it all out and got it up to date (received a chrysler warranty, so they should have)

60k miles.

Pedal commander is in work, but there seems to be another issue somewhere.

Truck seems really well take care of. But who knows.

Check the spark plugs--suppose to be changed every 30k also check the air filter and throttle body, and the tire pressure. Are you manually shifting and at what rpm? Don't stand on the brake and the accelerator at the same time on the line---it will pull timing if you do.

Its a hemi lol

Tire pressure good, not sure how to tell if k&n cai filter needs washed. I will check the plugs and throttle body.

The shop had to swap a head because of a broken bolt, so surely they would have noticed something dirty in the throttle body.

Tires are properly aired.
