I pulled the stock fender flares and wheel well covers off my Ram to have some work done. Put on headers and new wheels and tires. I had some 1.5” wheel spacers made also. I realized that some of the clear coat under where the original flares were is coming off. I have the new pocket flares and want to install them, but feel like I should do something to make sure there is no future issues. What would you all recommend? I don’t want to ruin anything and trust your opinions. Thanks in advance.

Your clear coat is not coming off. It’s had dirt built up and rubbed through the clear coat. The only thing you can do is apply a layer of paint protection film (ppf) between the flare and the paint. If you go with ones that bolt on and no tape. Be sure to remove them every few months to clean behind them.
