I have a '96 1500 5.2 Liter truck that makes rapid clicking noice when attempting to start. I replaced the starter and battery connections and even tried to start by jump starting from another vehicle with a great battery and still get clicking noise. Had wrecker toe to repair shop and it worked fine upon arriving. Placed new starter any way to be sure. Now 2 wks later tried to start...get just clicking sounds that gradually slow up . No start. Battery is only 1 yr. old and says it is fully charged. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm stuck with no transportation!

Have you load tested the battery, like with a carbon pile load tester? Your volts may be fine but you could have an amperage problem. Amps are what give the kick to turn the engine over.

Sounds like your starter solenoid. Did you replace that?

Load test your battery (it's the first thing you should have done in a situation like this). Measuring the voltage is not a good indicator of a failing battery/cell. Rare for starters and alternators to fail so always check the easy stuff first
