Hello all, I just replaced the "engine coolant crossover pipe" yesterday due to coolant leak. The truck is running better than ever, however I started it today and found the solid engine light on, code reading P2681. My cabin heat goes in and out. I am aware it has something to do with 3 way coolant valve, which I also replaced that 6 months ago. Just trying to brainstorm some ideas to try and solve the code.

Thanks.

Did you replace the three-way valve with an OEM unit? If it was replaced with the cheapest one Amazon/eBay offered, I'd start by replacing that with an OEM unit.
If it was replaced with an OEM unit, I'd begin looking at the electrical side.

Check the connector to the 3 way.
I was definitely leaning towards this. I pulled tested, and cleaned. When re-attaching the connector, I noticed it took a little more force, disconnected and noticed the gasket was bunched up. Impossible to fix without damaging, I just reconnected. I read someone removed the gasket and used dielectric grease, others say that is not wise. Do you think this could cause the open circuit code? Trying to eliminate everything before ripping up the wiring. I also had heat this morning no problem in 18 degree weather. I appreciate the reply.

To be honest, I went middle tier on the coolant valve replacement. I have no issue replacing with the OEM but I had non-stop heat this morning and the valve seems to be functioning fine. Really just the open circuit code Im worried about at this point. I remember pulling a different code when the OEM valve when out. I am NOT at all experienced, so any info would be appreciated. I just think it has to be a wiring issue at this point, but again, I could be wrong.

Open circuit indicates a broken wire/connection.
