Before we talk numbers I know it’s not really going to do anything. That’s why I’m curious if anyone has gotten any of the other cold air intakes available for the 6 other than K&N. If it doesn’t add power but just helps with sound. Then wouldn’t it be more viable to get a cheaper intake? And if you wanted a K&N couldn’t you get the cheaper kit and a replacement filter from them?

K&N does change the sound but I wasn't a fan personally. I now use part of the K&N (just the tube) with the stock air box (the K&N was too "bleaty" IMO). I think you'd be just as happy with a cheaper one. The fitment of the K&N was not that great with large air gaps.

Here's a video of the full K&N before I modified it.

I just put my driver window down and yell "VROOOM VROOOOOOOM" as I drive by people.. It impresses the hell out of most, and the ones that aren't impressed, well, I drive by them again and yell it even louder. That usually brings them around.
I'm reminded of this...
