I had 4 of them on two trucks, all on hemi's...Can't say i noticed a huge difference between them, go for pricing and the look you want...IMHO...good luck.

If you want performance, then Vararam is the way to go because it actually forces air into the engine. The more traditional style intakes are still an improvement over stock, but they wont show the same gains as the Vararam. If you prefer the traditional style, then I would go with S&B.

I actually had the Vararam and I will say that it is probably the best liking intake out there, imo...I went a different direction because I was worried about snow, although it never happened...either way Moe's knows his stuff and wouldn't steer you wrong, once again...good luck

K&N is my preference, had one on every vehicle I've owned.

Just installed a K&N on my truck today. It seems to make an improvement in throttle response. I am not sold on how LOUD it is at WOT. WOW...talk about GROWL.

What other mods do you have in mind for your truck? I have a had a few enclosed systems and think they are pretty good. They won't register too high on the butt dyno but you will hear a difference.

I put the VR Air Grabber(from Moe's) on my lifted RAM Sport a few weeks ago. My gauge for performance was all the very steep hills I drive on a daily basis. With the lift and the larger tires etc...at somewhat slow speeds the truck was downshifting fairly often. Once I put the VR on, I noticed a dramatic drop in downshifts and an ability to maintain a slow climb easier. By slow I mean 25-30mph. You will also notice it a lot at WOT (wide open throttle). When it hits the 2-3 and 3-4 gear transition, hang on!!! You can definitely tell the truck is not fighting for air.

Once you install the VR you can also do something fun like a dual battery setup on the passenger side.

You won't get that tooth rattling noise at WOT with S&B.

My vote would be for either the Vararam (my personal favorite for performance reasons and I think they look killer!) or the S&B my second favorite for looks alone.

If you are interested in the Vararam we currently have a forum exclusive promo running where you get $$$ off plus an entry into our Vararam Giveaway program where you have a chance to get either $400 in store credit or the purchase price of the Vararam refunded.

For more information just click the link in my signature :)

Thanks

I would also add the AEM brute force to your consideration, it's the one that I'm currently running and I'm happy with it

I got a great deal on the K&N. Maybe I will sell it and get the S&B. The older I get the less I want the sound of a monster, but I still want the performance gains an intake provides.
