I have a 2020 Ram 1500 and trying to install a dash cam. Would like to have constant power coming from one of the front USB outlets. Specifically, how does one go about doing this, and are there any reasons you wouldn’t want to do this?

Depending on battery draw, you might not want it on all of the time.

If you have parking mode with your cam, or something similar, then you want constant power so your camera will operate if it detects motion when its parked. If you don't have that, then ACC power is all you need.

My 2021 has hot usb's. I've charged up camera batteries in the camper while using our camper.

why not plug it into the cigarette lighter port on top of thee dash? it's always "hot" unless you switch fuse 48 from A to B location. Mine was always HOT and it kept recording while sitting in the garage over nite, so i switched the fuse so that it's power only when turck is ON
