I have a 2018 Ram Mega cab that I purchased last week and when I hook up my 40' gooseneck or 32' cattle trailer the brakes automatically energize and I get a message on the dash saying check trailer brake wiring. When I plug the trailer into my 17' F350 the brakes work just fine and aren't energized without being told to. I'm getting constant low voltage 0.8-1V on the truck while the truck is unplugged but as soon as I plug in the trailers it sends 10v to the brakes. Even with the truck turned off it still supplies power the brakes without brake pedal input. Any help would be greatly appreciated

probably there's a problem with the module under the dash, it will have a 4 pin and 10 pin plug on it.
It's possible the brake controller is set for EOH brakes, check the settings in the radio(or dash EVIC).
