I want to convert my 2022 RAM 2500 fog lights to amber signal lights. Does anyone know of a kit or product that could make this possible? I even thought it would look nice to have dual LEDs so they could be both fog and signal lights. It may sound crazy, but it's just something different.

not sure i understand what you mean
you want to make it so when you hit the fog light button your indicators turn on?

If you want to use the fog lights as fog lights occasionally and as signal lights while turning, you could wire the normally closed (NC) relay contact to power the fog lights and the turn signal voltage to drive the relay.

With the fog lights off, all is standard OE behaviour. With the fog lights switched on, they would stay on but go off as your signal lights come on. That would certainly be an attention magnet but kind of bizarre.

You could also wire in a bypass switch to resume full OE behaviour if you want to have your fog lights stay on during signal light illumination.

The sky is the limit. LOL

I thought the fog lights would work normally, but when using the signal light for a turn, the correct side fog light also blinks.

Use a relay with the turn signal wire as trigger, and use it to power the fog lights. Then use whatever bulbs or assemblies you desire.
Will I need a separate relay for each side?

I don't think I was clear on the intentions. I'm trying to make the fog light look like a signal light. I don't want both to blink at the same time just match the signal light.

It does depend on your intentions of how you want to use the fog lights.
If the fog lights were being used normally for low visibility conditions, they would be on already, that would be normal.

Again, that will depend on your intended use.

I don't think I was clear on the intentions. I'm trying to make the fog light look like a signal light. I don't want both to blink at the same time just match the signal light.

So, you're willing to sacrifice the normal operation of the fog lights to add an auxiliary signal light feature?

If so, you will require a relay for each fog light and the simplest method would be to interrupt the existing fog light power with a NO contact on the relay, using the signal light power to drive the relay.

When the signal light power energizes the relay, power from the normal fog light will pass through the relay, causing the fog light to flash in unison with that signal lamp.

Switching on the normal fog light power will be necessary or, you can defeat the operation by setting the fog light power to off.

Then you could use a DPDT toggle switch to bypass this feature if you ever want to use the fog light for its intended use.

Technically, you could do anything with enough wire and a bag of relays but unless you're knowledgeable in electronics or electrical circuits, I would advise you to not add a complex circuit, you aren't very familiar with.

When, not if, it fails to work properly, are you able to fix it yourself?
What if the failure screws up your signal lights?
Now we're into the legal requirements stuff.

First question is "Why",just what are you hoping to accomplish, besides burning the truck to the ground. It sounds like you don't understand enough about the signal and fog light circuits to know what you're doing,so just leave it alone . Right now the trucks legal, you start messing around with making a clear fog light act like a signal light, and the truck probably falls out of the realm of being legal if you run into a cop who's having a bad day.

Thanks Ram Driver, seems what I thought would be a rather simple undertaking is far more than what I need to be stepping into! Oh well, I'll spend some more time thinking up something and see where that goes.

You're most welcome.

There are several areas of the electronics on my truck I'd like to change but adding any further complexity could be, not worth the grief.

I grew up learning electronics with my Dad, followed that with working in Telecommunications for several decades and I would choose to be very selective about any modifications to the electronic systems.

If you could limit the modifications to adding devices that don't require to by interconnected to your truck's electronics, you would be much further ahead for long term reliability and the ability to simply disconnect anything that fails.

I'd hate to be far from home on a road trip and suddenly lose signals or brake lights or...

At least if the mod is an add on, I can always disconnect it and fix it another day.
