Good Afternoon, seems like I have a coolant leak somewhere over the transmission, does anyone know what this could be. Just changed out water pump but no leaks found there. I could not see the source. Seems like its not the connection above the transmission. Any help, thanks.

Odds are you have the 8 speed transmission with the tranny coolant heater,if so there's 2 rubber hoses that tie it to the hard lines, and they are on the very top of the transmission. If they're leaking, they are a bit of a pain to get to,and you'll want a decent pair of hose clamp pliars. To get to them, your best bet is to unbolt the tranny crossmember ,and drop the rear of the tranny down as far as possible using a floorjack to support it at the crossmember, and then unbolt the heater assembly off the side of the transmission,so it gives you a little more room at the hoses.FYI odds are you'll lose a little tranny fluid, and you'll probably want to drain as much coolant as possible from the rad if you need to replace the hoses. It's a messy job,and you'll probably want to allow a couple hours to do the job.Theres a decent how-to on here on how to replace the heater assembly,i forget who posted it though, but follow his steps outlined .

Yes, I have the 8 speed transmission, are you saying that's the only thing on top of that transmission area that I would get a leak from. There is no other parts that have coolant there?

There's a pair of hard lines from the radiator with 2 short rubber hoses that connect to the tranny heater, and those are the only things that carry coolant into the area above the transmission on a 5.7 equipped truck, but I can't see the 3.6's being any different.
