Maybe some of you out there can shed a little light on this subject. I have a 2018 Ram 1500 4x4 with a 3.6 L V6 engine with an 8 spd trans and 3.21 gear ratio. I have looked at many different claims of the amount this truck will tow, I got from 3900 lbs to 7500 lbs. However I do know that the larger amount is for a lower gear ratio. As many of you know this truck and engine has good power and drives well. I also have a 2000 Dodge Cummins with a 6 spd Trans for the heavier stuff. Anyway your input may help and also how much do you tow with a truck equipped with similar equipment. Thanks.

Put your VIN in the Towing guide on the Ram website. It will give you max towing and max payload. The rest is all a numbers game of how much you can tow.

With the V6/8spd/3.21, you should be about 4000lbs. One of the reasons I didn't buy the V6 when I had the chance. regretting it some now.

The V6 with the 3.55 gears is good to 7k.
