Thinking about selling my 2016 3500 Laramie Dually w/ 8 foot bed. Just turned 42,000. Between NADA, Blue Book, and the internet the pricing is all over the place. Looking for help on what to expect selling it private party? Has everything but moon roof. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Al I can say is that the dealers that ‘need your vehicle’ really seem to.
I just traded my 2017 Longhorn 1500 for $39500, with 42,000 mls on it. Would have been more but it needed tyres. An identical one, 2015 85,000mls on it was selling on another forecourt near me for $32,000!!!! ( they didn’t get it I hear)
Try them, especially if you buying Ram again.
I never thought I would say this as I worked for dealerships and I know how they work, but at least I FELT well done by even if in reality not?
good luck.
One site to try is Caravana, that will give you probably the he worst price so you at least have an idea!!!!!!!

We briefly thought about trading our 2018 1500 in but there are very few new 2500 on lots around here and those few have outrageous pricing. No thanks, we will stay with what we have.

i took mine in to have my front end rebuilt, fix my leaking trans and rad flush and fix a headlight connection.bill was going to be over 5k.they offered me 12k as it was and i took it.i left about 3k on the table as i would conservatively gotten 18k for it, but i couldn't sell it to joe shmoe the way it sat in good conscience and it saved me dealing with tire kickers and craigslist flakes.it had just under 200k hard miles on it.

I'd go here: https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing
and then list what it has, including transmission. With all the unknowns it could range 45-58k or more. Location will vary the price too.

Trucks right now re super-high, used. I know a few guys who got crazy good money for their used trucks traded-in ....around the same age-range as yours. And the dealer was able to turn around and sell their 2016 for a lot of money too. These guys had 4dr 1/2 tons, but if anything I would think yours would attract a lot of value too, esp with the relatively low miles. Like others said, shop it around at some dealers and don't jump on anything too quick till you see what kind of numbers you are getting. Let them know you're shopping your trade-in too. Problem you might run into is getting a replacement pickup.

Such a market for those I'd say between 50-60k on a trade in depending on what you have in there plus area you are located in. Normally private party is better then trade in but not recently, it is the other way around. Because used trucks get large interest rates, private party offers wont be better, they mise well just getting premium rates on a new truck. Guys are getting insane offers from carmax and similar. Shop around, I bet you will like the offers. Market conditions favor a trade in right now.
