I have a 2019 Ram 1500 limited and have been searching for a tag that will tell me the curb weight of my vehicle. The tags inside the door has Gvwr on the axles etc. but nowhere Do I see what the truck weighed when it left the factory

On the stickers. One will have your GVWR and GAWR. Look at the other one that is your tire and loading sticker. It will list your payload.

If you have a HEMI 4x4 your GVWR will 7100

Take 7100 minus the payload listed and you have your base weight.

Remember, base weight is no cargo/passengers but full fluids...gas oil etc

It isn't listed as a number but the numbers are there to get it.

A tag inside your door will also be called tire and loading. This will list your payload.

Take your GVWR from the other tag and subtract the payload.

For instance a 4x4 HEMI will have a GVWR of 7100. Say the payload is 1100. Your curb weight will be 6000lbs.

Remember, curb weight is with full fluids...gas, oil, coolant, washer fluid.

Like my 2500.. GVWR is 10000 payload is 2998...curb weight is 7002.

sounds light to me. mine weighs 5960# with just me (225#) and 1/2 tank fuel ( about 120#). so around 5615# per CAT scale

my door jamb sticker shows 1324# cargo. 7100-1324= 5776# so that is also off a little somewhere. if that number is supposed to include full fuel, then 5776-120=5656. close to what I got at the scale.

The chart is for a configuration. Ie. Crew 4x4 6"4 bed

Basically a tradesman trim. Then you add the options and that comes down.

Do the formula. That is accurate...

You do not have to guess about this. Follow the equation

GVWR minus Payload equals base(curb) weight.

These numbers are on the door jamb

except when as in my case when those door numbers dont match actual CAT scale numbers.

I would be interested to see the CAT scale weights.

No truck is going to match the chart. My tradesman only has the tow mirrors and protection group as options, it doesn't even have the satellite antenna and it is quite a few pounds off

If your payload number and formula found base weight do not match your sticker...i would say you have a very rare truck.

Interesting. Here in NY registation costs are based on the weight of the vehicle so our registation slip shows the weight. My '14 1500 CC Express w/ Hemi & 5'7" bed is listed at 5212lbs. Now I'm curious as to if that will match the info on the door jamb stickers.

@runamuck

I see you wrote your findings here.

5960 was your CAT scale weight. You say you weigh 225 and you had a half tank of gas.

You said base weight is 5615 with those numbers.

Then you saw I said base weight is with full fuel.

You make the new figure of 5656. And if you go the other way your figure would be 5735. So your figures are 41 pounds different than the door jamb.

Your door stickers say it should be 5776.

So, you had nothing else in the truck. Just you with an accurate weight of 225 lbs? 41 pounds could be a misjudge of gas...or a hitch in the rear.

And just to be sure...you have a 2019 or newer 5th Gen DT Ram 4x4?

This payload and towing stuff is very interesting to me. I have spent countless hours in conversation about it.

I am truly interested in your numbers.

Remember, also. If you change your tires to a larger size...if you put a bed cover on. If you get a bedliner. If you put aftermarket lights on the rear bumper for added reverse lights...these will change your weight and lower your available payload.

To answer my own question, it does not. GVWR: 6900lbs, Payload 1479lbs = 5414lbs Curb weight, 202lbs more than the registration slip.

Farmer Fran's Truck
GVWR = 7100
Payload = 1090
Base = 6010 (sheesh)
