I hate hearing about
Your pops, but love stories like this.

When my dad passed in 2016, I inherited his 2000 F150 (we have bees ford guys all my life). He bought it brand new in 99 and still had the sales paperwork in the glove box, lol. It only had 85k miles on it, but they were hard miles and it was looking rough.

a few months later, I had replaced the carpet and headliner (he was a heavy smoker), shampoos the seats, scrubbed all interior parts/panels, replaced the stereo, headlights, tail lights, both bumpers and wheels/tires (the pics above are the new wheels). I decided I wanted it a different color and all of the dings/dents fixed, so I threw $4500 at it and had all of it painted silver, including the tonneau. They did a fantastic job! It looked brand new in and out. A few months later I rolled over 100k in it and the oil filter housing cracked. It started running a little funky and the transmission started acting goofy, so after much deliberation and heartache, I got rid of it. I wish I didn’t. If I can offer one piece of advice, keep it.

It was a bit of a weird truck,it had the vinyl seats with the rubber floor mat,but it had power windows and power folding mirrors,I've never seen another one set-up that way, lol. I just added a couple more pic's to that thread, the red one is the one that replaced it.

Welcome and truck looks good. That front chrome bumper mixed in is a nice little switch up from the normal all color match.

Thx Kingzilla... figured it was worth a shot hadn't seen it but like I said it's a truck.

In my opinion a good number of your old school trucks have that nice chrome front bumper and you kind of loose touch of the rear bumper when you following the lines of the truck.

Again my personal opinion... But the front chrome bumper has kind of grown on me.

Damn its a 2011 model? It still looks new in the pics. Must be pretty low mileage. you did a great job updating it! I know my dads Silverado is a 2008 model with 70K on it. He bought it slightly used in January 2010 with 9900 on it so 6K a year.

Thx Tidefan, yup 2011 and yes it is low mileage the truck just hit 61k... It had 44k on 3 years ago when I got it.

It's a fun truck took me by surprise..

Tidefan you talked about your Dads truck. Did you have anything more on that you wanted to share? If so wouldn't mind to hear... no pressure if not just thought I would ask.

Wildeone you mentioned tune.... I was just going to stick with the pedal commander, but I'm thinking I may want to tune it as well nothing crazy.

With my Mustang I have one of the mail tunes you talked about any recommendations on a good mail tune?

Anyone can chime in if they want thx for all your positive feed back guys very much appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your dad. The truck looks great! White ram on rebel wheels is looking good. Looks similar to mine.

Much appreciated Rado! it took me 3 years to finally start this build my dad was pretty simple as you can tell by how the truck looked. So trying to not go over the top with it as that was not my dads style. just trying to keep it clean but walk the line at the same time.

Good morning, I'm new to the Forum. I inherited my Dads 1500 RAM 3 years ago after he passed away. My Dad and I talked about upgrading to the dual exhaust and bumper on his Standard cab (We never got around to it before he passed).

Not making this into a sad story, but a happy one... I decided to move forward with this idea and completed the project last week.

I not only did the exhaust but also re did the front as well. I have added the rebel wills and side step to my Dad's truck as well.

I hope you enjoy the picture transformation. If you all like what you see I can post more as well.

Again thank you for taking time in your day to share this build with me (My 2006 Mustang is in a few of these as well).

Thank you,

Tony
