The rattle in mine only happens when you drive over a series of small bumps. It is quite obvious.....and ANNOYING.

If you're the adventurous type, you can take your dash apart, and find the contact point. Then put the 'soft' side of velcro on it (the peal and stick kind)

Almost always kills the annoying little rattles.

Me too. Only seems to be at a certain temperature. When cold out, it is not there, as the truck warms it comes on strong and then gets less and less.

Very annoying sound. I had dealer look but got the "we don't hear it".

You mean like this? (Skip to 0:45 and turn your speakers up).

[yt]PIccsiQzLR0[/yt]

Dealer says they "cannot duplicate." Drives me fricken nutz.

Same as you, I can put slight pressure center dash near the speaker, and it quiets right down.

I'm going to pull the dash apart this fall (too hot here in the summer, and we'll have a nice garage by the fall) and put some felt in there.

YUP! I hate that one :fc5716bd:

I think the issue is dealer techs almost always drive pieces of ****.
So they have learned to tune out little rattles n ****. I wish I could take it to a Benz Dealership. They'd be like "WTF This whole thing is a rattle box!"

Anyone find a fix. My 2011 sport is driving me nuts.

About to pull it apart. The slightest preassure on top of dash in middle and goes away

Took my 2014 into the dealer and he knew exactly what to do. He pulled a report that showed the dash rattle was a problem on many Rams. They installed more foam under the dash. I have not had a problem since. Kindly let your dealership know to research this. It is a common problem on these trucks.

You may be able to gain enough access to add foam by just removing the radio and bezel. It will take you all of 5 minutes.

If it allows you enough access, you said that a slight downward pressure cured the rattle. I'm thinking a slight upward pressure will do the same?

Really, place it anywhere you can that works. Removing the radio will let you see a large cavity in the dash. There is a lot going on in the center, but you may be able to wedge something in.

Another option is to remove the driver instrument cluster. It is also very easy to get out, has only one plug and is completely unobstructed behind it (easier to look around in).

Check out the comments on my youtube video posted above.

I found the rattle - it is at the junction of the defrost vent and the HVAC box. If you pull off the radio bezel and radio out, the defrost duct goes into the HVAC box right there. The rattle is actually the duct rattling, and the noise travels up through the duct and out the defrost vents (i.e. appears to come from the dash). I put some foam between the defrost duct and the HVAC box around 18k miles (Summer 2013). I'm now at 33k miles (no - I don't drive a lot), and the noise has never returned.
