In order to tow my truck there is a lever that takes the truck out of park. My question is does that put the transfer case ( I have a 4x4) in neutral or the transmission in neutral? If it's the transmission how can I get the transfer case into neutral with a dead engine? I have a 2014 Ram 1500 4x4.

The lever under the dash puts the transmission into neutral (or at least releases the parking pawl), your not supposed to tow like this.
The transfer case should into neutral if you hold the "N" button(use a paper clip or small pointed object) down with the ignition on.

To make sure the transfer case is in neutral, push the transmission lever back down and the truck should still roll freely. You don't want the transmission in neutral while flat towing.
