Curious... I know nascar drivers have them but what is the point of our trucks having them? I know it is suppose to be a resting spot for the foot but other than that why have one?
Comfortable driving is why I want one, I love the feel of my drivers seat in my RAM, except my left foot dangles there looking for a spot, something that's bugged me since I bought it. IMHO a footrest would make a big difference in my driving comfort.. can't think of any other reason anyone would want a footrest?

I'd get one because my OCD kicks in when I rest my shoe directly on the carpet lol

Hmm. I guess I dont have an issue so probably why I dont understand hehe. My left foot chills whereever, never thought about it. On long drives (16+ hours) only thing that hurts for me is my butt lol

My Patriot has one on the left floorboard and I wish they would have left it off. It puts my left foot in an uncomfortable position, I'm glad my Dodge trucks don't have them

Well, I (2) feet drive. I have done so for 40 + years, kinda came with my profession I am retired from. But each to their own, as they say...

So a foot rest is not needed by me, but just my preference...

Sometimes I'm a smart ass and I joke. This dead pedal really is something I want but it's been far to easy to joke and laugh about it since it's taken so long.

In all seriousness... In the time we've waited just to get to this test stage, I've built an entire house. Yes, a house. Found the lot, got the blueprints, financing, construction loan nightmares, delays, rain, storms, hell I think we might have even had locusts and a couple plagues thrown in for good measure. We've moved in and I will make the second payment in a few days but there's folks still working on making a dead pedal.

Genuine question here. How complicated can it be to make a dead pedal? It can't possibly be harder than building a house from scratch.

No its not as hard but this inst the manufacturer's only priority or even a priority at that. obviously there is a market for this but it must not be too big or other companies would have made one by now. So I think that is why this hasnt been pushed to the top of the list for things to R&D and build. Unfortunately we arent building these ourselves. We are using the same company that made them for our Ford Raptor customers. It is a very good product and very popular. So we figured who better to make one for our RAM customers. Unfortunately it is taking way longer than anyone has anticipated. Trust me I wish these were out last year.

Luckily it sounds like we are close!

The latest test fit would have worked, but they are making a few more adjustments in order to be as perfect as possible.

Thanks for the update! I was wondering how your fitment test went on the 5th.
I figure if I've waited and survived without it for this long, then what's a little while longer.. you know?
I'm not normally what my friends would call 'patient' but I'm willing to hold out for a quality product.
