Dealer LSD quote

I stopped by the dealer this morning and talked to service about how my truck has an open differential but when I purchased it I was told it had the LSD.
I quote them, "this is the exact same truck you just test drove other than color. "
I got some mods done and was playing around a little. It has the open differential!!!!
I talked to them about getting the LSD (anti-spin) changed in..... This is their quote.
$912.00+$300 in labor!
Not happy.

that's crazy, get an Auburn LSD for roughly $500 and find an offroad shop to install it.

They didn't have the window sticker. It had just come off the truck or somethin.
It will only not void my warranty if I use MOPAR parts and have a dealership install it!
Idk what else I can do. Im not gonna pay $1200 for something that was $325 from the factory and was suppose to come with!!!

The Magnusson act specifically calls out manufacturers for voiding warranty on a vehicle because of an aftermarket part. If worst case scenario, the manf. would have to prove the aftermarket part is what caused a failure and would not service and/or replace the parts affected due to the aftermarket part.

That said, with a 2013, I don't even know if they make an aftermarket LSD yet. I was under the impression my 2010 was the last year they offered an aftermarket.

Ordering the part online and paying the labor to the dealer to install...?

See if they will let you buy everything and bring it in. There are a couple of Mopar vendors that you can get these alot cheaper through. 100 bucks for gear lube is crazy. They really should be less than 800.00 bucks on that quote.

We sell the Mopar LSD for $509 shipped, and they have it down at $629 on your quote. Let me know if you want us to ship the parts to you, and then you can just have them do the install.

I will need the carrier bearing because the open diff one cannot be used.
Lube, the sealant and additive.

I asked them how much to change out the LSD and put the 4.10gears from the R/T in and they said they could do the LSD but the gears would void my warranty no matter what.....
It was almost cheaper to just order a complete R/T axle and have them change the whole thing.

And to think I paid like 40 bucks for the 3.92s and another hundred or so for the LSD option from the factory. Seems like a rip to be 1000+ dollars for the same thing.

Yea it is. I gave the dealership a piece of my mind this afternoon. My dad was about to order a new 2013 3500 and we just bought 4 new company trucks all 2012 crew cab long wheel base 4x4's. For me to get gimmicked out of my LSD when buying.
We won't make that mistake again. Pretty heated.
I left with my quote and Expected our salesman for all the deals to take care of me but that didn't happen.

Just had it done today, my dealer matched the prices I could get on parts ordered online. It cost me $900 total parts plus labor, and I retained the factory warranty. I could have gotten it done for $700 at a local rear and driveshaft shop, but only a 1 year/12k mile warranty. I went with the dealer since they've been cool to me. There are no aftermarket options yet for the ZF axles.

Dude first off thats b/s about the sticker they come from the factory with the stickers sounds like you got one pulled over go back and demand the window sticker.I worked a few dealers and they all come with a window sticker sounds like thay lied about what they sold you and are now trying to rip you odd even more
