Dropped my 2018 2500 off last night for oil change and tire rotation. I keep my rears at about 73 and fronts about 65. Picked it up and the outside temp was about 20* F. Rears read 81 on my dash. By the time I got home the dash read 86...yikes. Max on the sidewall says 80. I dropped them to about 75 when I got home. So just an FYI to verify tire pressures after picking it up from the dealer

Ten ply tires on a 2500 are supposedly set at 80 psi from the factory. That’s the setting with the tires cold and not running. Driving home, though cold out, heated up the air on your tires. Not an issue. On a hot day when towing mine would sometimes see 90+ psi.

Seems that conditions are normal.

Side note-I’d run mine around 50 psi when not towing to get a softer ride.

i cringe at 80 psi. 86 is over my comfort level. i had them at 73 but when they rotated them they aired them back up

The dealer wannabe mechanics are really good at over filling tire pressure and leaving off stem caps, also good at over filling oil when doing oil changes. Speaking from experience .

I always take my 2500 to a dealership for oil changes and tire rotation, just for documentation. I’ve never got the truck back with tire pressures set to what I specified. I tend to keep them at what’s recommended unless I’m towing, 60f and 65r.
