Decided on my next mod!

Been debating on going audio or performance and decided to pull the trigger on the Edge 11" Torque Converter through Moe's Performance. I have been putting it off because I am nervous about pulling the tranny but after talking to Matt who had some really great advice I feel more confident, Thanks Matt.

Can't wait to see how this 2800 stall can do! Think with the money I save by doing it myself can go towards getting a Trinity with the HemiFever Tune.

Every converter has a 5 business day build time, so it will ship next Friday.

Thanks for the positive feed back, I think I am more worried about pulling the exhaust back off since I just installed my 14" mufflex by myself in my driveway which was a PITA! From what I hear it is labor intensive but really it is just making sure you get all the lines out of the way so you dont break anything when pulling it.

I'll have to put Matt's number on speed dial if I mess anything up LOL.

This is a question I have been asking for a while but I think the lowest I have seen is $400 dollars, anything more and your they are robbing you. I heard it takes about 4-5 hours and that would make labor cost about 100 per hour! I am going to take my truck to the auto hobby shop on base and use their equipment, they charge $7 dollars an hour so that is a no brainer lol.

Maybe I should rethink my strategy with these numbers, still stuck with a DIY because I really want the tuner and know that it will come faster with a install myself.

Matt IS awesome and after chatting with him. I too want a new TC. Same butterflies are in my stomach about mess'n with the tranny too.

That's why I let a mechanic do mine, dosen't even look like anything was touched, but it's a different truck. In a 12 3/4 ton with 4:10 gears I'm getting 12.5 to 12.8 mpg running around town. I will be pulling my Jeep to the mountains in a couple of weeks and I will post up how it tows now. I think the TC was my best investment!

That's what I was expecting, I'd rather have a shop do it as I have little tools and the the only jack I have is what came with the truck.

I have done this with a simple floor jack, but it is not fun. Trying to balance that heavy transmission by yourself as you lower it down is not easy. Having a tranny jack is a huge help, and a 2nd pair of hands is nice as well.

Yeah, and my luck in those situations is the transmission will roll off right on top of me lol.
