I finally did it, I RAMmed a deer last night, first one ever. It was raining, dark, and I just didn't see it till it was too late. I thought there was going to be more damage but I guess it was a small deer.

Good that you're okay. Nothing too major on the truck. It could have been worse.
A grill guard would probably do you some good if you drive where there are lots of deer.

I think the bumper took most of it, that's good. I'll call my insurance on Monday I wonder if they'll cover it?

Your comprehensive insurance should cover it. Assuming you have it

So apparently the deer hit me (that's my story) and it'll be $250.00 deductible and a rental car. Will post pics after it's fixed up.

My truck is finished and it looks really good! They had to change the brackets behind the bumper as well, it's done with stock bumper so I'll be adding a light bar for fog lights in the future. They even gave me new wheel well covers. It does seem the grill is high , not much room to move the hood latch now. But I'm happy overall the way it turned out!

Also I bought a deer electronic alarm that you can switch on and off. It will be installed behind the grill somewhere and the toggle switch in the dash. Anyone else install these, do they work?

To be honest I bought just a set of those $5 plastic stick on deer whistles and I don't know if it's coincidence or not but I haven't seen a deer within 50 yards of my truck in about a year and my first 2 years of the truck I've had close calls with a lot of deer on the back roads by my house. Some say the deer alerts work some dont

I like the fact you can turn it off for when you don't need it like for hunting.

Those deer alert things are like the gimmicky fishing lures....they are designed to catch the buyer.......and separate his money from his wallet

That is true although with these the clip is what gets attached to the grille with double sided tape and u can pull the whistles off when you go through the car wash so you could do the same when you go hunting

Just lift your truck. Had a 99 1500 with a 6" lift and 35's and hit a nice buck about 6 years ago going 60. Pushed him right under the truck and didn't even put a scratch or dent on it. His 1 antler scuffed the air dam at the bottom of the bumper but that was it.
