I have noticed the delayed 1st shift from 1st to 2nd as well, but i have several other things going on too that may be related, but wanted to get some input..
My truck is a 2015 1500, 5.7L, 4x4, CC, BigHorn with 61K miles.
8HP70 Transmission, 3.92 gears, LSD
It has Tow/haul mode, but no trailer braking module.
Besides the delayed shift from 1 to 2, it is also a very loud shift, like the roar of a fan for 2-3 seconds as it shifts then the noise is quieter on the second shift and so on. Mine also seems a bit sloppy, shifting for about 3 minutes or so, then seems fairly smooth. I have also noticed a whine that seems to match the revs, seems to only happen when I am travelling at 40mph or less, and more audible the slower i am going, and even more than that when coasting down a hill, which leads me into my next issue. My next issue is that is the truck will never just coast down a hill at a higher gear, it will always try to shift down a gear or more and is seems very aggressive, and not consistent (sometimes it will feel like hitting the brakes somewhat firmly, and sometimes it just feels like it shifts from 7 to 6, but doesnt rev high or feel like the brakes were pressed firmly.) within a second or 2 of letting off the gas. Do these trucks do engine braking? and should it be acting like this? Its very hilly where I live, but I'm rarely on anything like a mountain.
It's always garaged when not in use, and has never leaked fluid.
Have any of you seen this, and know where I should start looking?
thanks in advance!
