Did Amazon send me a used filter?

I swore I clicked new?

Could/should I still use it, or try and exchange it for a new one?

I worked for a long time at a local parts store and hardly any oil filters come wrapped in plastic or taped up anymore..... looks like a new filter to me.

The only ones I see with plastic on them are OEM.

I know the Subaru and Nissan OFs I use are wrapped in plastic and packed in a box. Honda and Hyundai were too.

I've been disappointed with Wix/Affinia filters as of late. The QC ain't what it used to be on them.

I agree, had 2 Wix xp filters that had defects, they screwed on crooked. For the price I expected it to be good quality.
