I currently have a 74 power wagon w250 extended cab and am in the beginning stages of restoring this beauty. It currently has a 91 roller cam 360 in it and run great but I am considering doing a 12V Cummings swap. If there is anyone that lend some info or advice that would be great

1. No such thing as a Cummings.
2. You may need stronger front springs to offset the weight of the 12v.
3. Depending on what trans you are running now you may need a stronger one.
4. Your axles should be fine. Driveshafts maybe if they are the same ones the big blocks got that year.
5. Tank will need to be dropped and cleaned (obviously).
6. Existing diameter fuel supply line may not be sufficient to feed the diesel properly.
7. Will need to add an extra fuel filter closer to the engine (you don't wanna skimp on that, good diesel fuel filtration system has some kind of larger micron primary filter and then a much finer micron secondary prior to the injection pump).

Unless you’re just doing it for the cool factor, the 360 is much nicer to drive. The older 12v were noisy and not powerful. Yes, you can turn up the wick a lot, but then none of the transmissions of that era will be durable with that much torque.

The diesel is an excellent choice for a HD truck to run on asphalt and pull a heavy load. Not a good choice for a Power Wagon. There’s a reason Dodge / Ram never built that combination.
