I have a 2016 Ram 1500 3.6. The check engine light came on and the oil pressure is reading at a consistent 100 PSI when idling and when driving. My L and H gauge is reading normal and appears to be functioning properly. Is this simply the oil pressure sensor needing to be replaced? I hear it’s a pain on these 3.6’s

I have the 5.7, also a 2016 and the exact same problem. Digital reading is 100psi and doesn’t move. Gauge is reading slightly past the middle like yours. My question is whether the 100psi reading is normal? Seems high but maybe it’s a bad reading. I had the check engine light scanned and came back as oil pressure sensor. Does that mean the pressure is fine but the sensor is dead and just giving a dummy reading of 100.
I know I didn’t answer your question but came on here looking for the same answer

The oil pressure sending unit has failed. This is common and I see this quite often on the HEMI trucks and Durango. I just repaired a 2014 Durango yesterday with the same concern. 100psi on the digital gauge. If you look at the sending unit try to spin the black connector and I'll bet you will be able to turn it.

Use a Mopar sending unit for the replacement.
