Ding rear view mirror

I have a code U0213 Lost communication with mirror control module, not sure what's going on or why mirror dimming will not activate. I am so much interested in the dimming function but more so wanted to use Dongar connector to provide power for dash cam, no power when connected tho. Does anyone know of issues related to this code...much appreciated for feedback.
