These arrived with 2 types of harnesses to use. They also are equipped with an amber backlight. They don't go into detail how I'm to connect them. The cable looks like I should tap into another 12V constant somewhere. I cannot find much info on it. Anyone familiar with the DD Max amber Fogs?

They are direct fit to the factory harness and power correctly, but there is a darker faint amber color that says it's constantly on when the fogs are off.

Here's a photo of the kit.

If anyone has installed them I'd love feedback.

The amber color wire I believe you can hook into a fuse tap with an ignition "on" fuse such a 12v cigar/cigarette light option. F93 fuse...it will power the back light.

P93? I will try this today. Thank you. I installed Morimoto XB last night and they also installed in the fuse box to power something on the headlights.
I wonder about the Diode Dynamics if there is a way to plug them in without tapping or cutting into another wire.

That background amber light is there just for looks, I would consider tapping the vehicle running lights. You don't have to hook them up.

F 93 fuse. You can run a fuse tap. Just have to make sure you get the power on the right leg of the fuse tap.

So I have been thinking about this and I believe the red end will go directly into my fuse box at the F93 as OC455 suggested. This harness connects to a secondary line also going to the fogs. I believe I have it right. Any thoughts?

I lost the foldable T taps shown in the photo below. Could buy alternatives or just have to look around for them. I don't believe I need them. The secondary harness line with the open red end on one side looks like it'll wire directly into my fuse box.

Did you see this page? Maybe it will provide some guidance . . .

Thanks for the post. Yep, I've looked at that page. Didn't offer much help. I'm going to try these red ended connections today. Do you know if these type of connectors are for plugging into the fuse panel directly? It certainly looks like this to me. I'll post them below my post.

T-taps that are supplied I would not use on a factory harness especially if it is exposed to elements. Personally I will not use T-taps.

A fuse tap will at least be in the fuse box and you can use butyl rubber to seal the wires as they come out of the fuse box. That and they will be on their own fuse. There are Youtube videos showing how to locate an ignition sourced fuse and how to determine which side of the fuse socket is the hot side.

Those connectors are for your backlights. According to the instructions - "If you purchased backlit SS3 pods, connect the backlight power wire to a fused 12V source to trigger the backlight feature (i.e. parking light or sidemarker); T-Taps are included for this purpose."

Bingo. I read that too. However, how do these red ends of this harness connect with the t-taps?. It makes no sense to me. The red end of this harness in the earlier photo looks like it should plug directly into the fuse box at a 12v location. What - and where - would the t-tap be used? Makes zero logical sense to me.

Do I connect the wire myself directly to this red harness end and some new wire I’ll tap?

Hard to comprehend nowhere on google a tutorial or something similar of someone’s experience installing these

@bitdrive They want you to tap into a sidemarker or parking light wire using the included T-Taps. Maybe a picture of a T-Tap will help you better understand where the red male spade connectors will go:

Thank you. I understand now. I saw this exact photo on amazon and it was immediately obvious how these connectors work. Thank you for the post. I've bought a small package of these and going to wire them into a 12v source. I have an idea where to fuse it but not totally sure.

Well, I have learned about a new connector and have wired the backlights up. I now have to determine where to connect them so they are not powered when the truck is off. While wiring my Morimoto XBs a few days ago, they came with a secondary harness they said is required for model year 2015. It was a harness with 2 fuses on it connecting directly to the headlights. I tried with and without the harness. When plugged into P93 my sunroof no longer worked AND I was getting a warning about checking my air suspension which I deleted in the summer this year. I took that harness out, put the original fuse back in and everything went back to normal. Very odd why that would happen.

I have a relay here I might try unless I can connect them directly to the new Morimotos I installed. That's not a bad idea maybe. into the DRL line.

This video is a good tutorial for different methods to use a relay.
